Wet-type bridge bearing axles offer advantages such as simple structure, high reliability, and easy maintenance, which is why they have been widely adopted. In bridge engineering, wet-type bridge bearing axles can effectively reduce bridge deformation and deflection, enhance the bridge's load-bearing capacity and operational stability, and ensure the safe operation of the bridge.
A wet-type bridge support axis is a common type of support structure in bridge engineering. Its primary function is to support and transfer the loads carried by the bridge. A wet-type bridge support axis typically consists of a series of bearings, each bearing comprising an upper and a lower bearing. The upper bearing is installed on the superstructure of the bridge, while the lower bearing is installed on the substructure of the bridge.
The upper bearing of a wet-type bridge support typically consists of an upper sliding plate and a lower sliding plate. The upper sliding plate is mounted on the superstructure, while the lower sliding plate is mounted on the substructure. The upper and lower sliding plates are connected by a layer of special friction material, enabling the upper sliding plate to slide smoothly over the friction material. This friction material is usually made from materials such as rubber or polyurethane, which offer excellent friction performance and elasticity.
The lower bearing of the wet-type bridge support typically consists of a ductile iron sphere and a bearing seat. The ductile iron sphere is mounted on the substructure, while the bearing seat is installed on the bridge pier. A thin layer of lubricating oil serves as the interface between the ductile iron sphere and the bearing seat, enabling the sphere to rotate smoothly on the lubricating film. The lubricating film reduces friction between the ductile iron sphere and the bearing seat, allowing for smooth rotation.
The working principle of the wet-type bridge bearing pivot is to transmit the bridge’s load through the friction between the upper and lower sliding plates, as well as the lubricating oil film formed between the ductile iron balls and the bearing seat. When the bridge load acts on the upper sliding plate, the upper sliding plate slides over the friction material; the friction force then transfers the load to the lower sliding plate, which in turn transmits it to the substructure via the lubricating oil film between the ductile iron balls and the bearing seat. At the same time, the wet-type bridge bearing pivot can also adaptively adjust to temperature changes and settlement of the bridge, ensuring its normal operation.
